In a hands on class and using their creativity, the apprentices will experience how to make a piece of jewelry. They will be supervised at all times by an instructor who will guide them in the manufacturing by the assembling technique of a pendant, a pair of earrings, a bracelet and a lady´s ring. The material to be used will be sterling silver and drilled uncut Colombian emeralds. Also, the apprentices will live the experience of melting the metal and practicing the making of silver thread. This class is given in an air-conditioned environment and especially suitable to live a unique experience during the stay in our facilities.
The Emerald Museum has an area of more than 3.000 sq, ft. distributed in five rooms. Your visit includes a guided tour to the replica of a tunnel of an emerald mine, as well as the room dedicated to the history of the emerald in pre-Columbian times, a room with other minerals of the beryl group and other gems, a room with beautiful special emeralds and the great room dedicated to emeralds of the world and to Petra, the largest emerald bearing vein ever unearthed from any mine in Colombia.
